The Criollo Horse was the unconditional battle companion of our Caudillos who fought for the independence of our country .Their ancestors, brought to South America and Rio de la Plata by the Spanish conquerors, spread over the plains of the Pampas.
In the course of two hundred years they multiplied in freedom, suffering a natural selection in which only those that were intrepid and tough enough survived to the different aggressions of the environment and managed to reproduce.

This natural selection is the one that has given the Criollos , the characteristics of strength , rusticity , and ability of recovery, that differentiate it from all the other equine breeds worldwide.
Following the Standard of the Breed, breeders have worked on an athletic phenotype , looking for intelligence , speed, cattle handling condition, having managed , today, to obtain a versatile horse , whose potential is appreciated in the variety of events organized by the S.C.C.C.U.
Its rusticity , excellent health and fertility make the rearing and handling of this horse a very easy and satisfying job for its owners.
